Overview
Distribution network communicates every branch distribution station, distribution terminal with every master station by using industrial grade Ethernet switches, to collect information, monitor, and remote control. Distribution network automation is comprises of two subsystems, distribution network SCADA system and remote meter reading system, these two systems require different for data security, transmission delay, transmission reliability.
Distribution Network SCADA System
Description
Distribution network SCADA system is used to collect data from transformer substation, switching station, distribution substation, and RTU,TTU,FTU in the looped network cabinet, and also used to remote signaling, telemetry, remote control, condition monitoring ,alarm, sequence of event order. Remote Terminal Unit(RTU) is used to collect analog quantity and quantity of status of power running status. Transformer Terminal Unit(TTU) is used to real-time detect and record the current, voltage, and power. Feeder Terminal Unit(FTU) is a switch monitoring device installed beside the feeder line switch, is used to monitor, control and protect looped network cabinet, column switch, also with the function of communication automation.

Distribution network SCADA system is power detection, power failure switching, power real-time scheduling system, data real-time and high-reliable transmission are required
The system services as remote signaling, remote control, remote vision, status monitoring, alarm etc. Communication system required QoS service
Outdoor installation, designed to stand up to the harsh environmental and extreme temperatures, damp-proof, dust proof are required Prevent from illegal access and data destroy Meet the requirement of Electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic capability

Remote Meter Reading System
Description
Remote meter reading system is used to meter electrical degree, collect information, information remote transmission, software handling and analysis from background. The process is information collection from intelligent electrical meter by using serial server and concentrator. Upload data to the storage server at main control station, to complete intelligent payment and information record.

Data collection has no specific requirement of delay , QOS data forwarding priority level below power SCADA data priority level
Serial server need to support multiple serial protocols, to meet different application requirements
